  • Obey exclusion zones

Exclusions zones are the dangerous areas around mobile plant, vehicles, cranes, and automated equipment. No-one is to enter these zones while the equipment is operating.

  • Work safely at height

Working at height includes any situation where you can fall from one level to another. This may be above ground, in and around excavations, and around floor openings.

  • Ensure plant & equipment is safe to use

Always check equipment is safe to operate before starting it. Never alter guards, safety interlocks, or control settings. Let your manager know immediately if you see anything that seems unsafe.

  • LOTO (lock out tag out)

Plant and equipment must be locked-out and tagged-out when we need to make sure no-one can use it. This includes when we are cleaning, maintaining, or repairing plant and equipment.

  • Drive safely

Driving includes using trucks, forklifts, cars, and any other vehicles. Driving safely involves having the right vehicle for the job and operating them correctly.

  • No drugs or alcohol

Drugs and alcohol can harm our ability to think and work safely. Never come to work under the influence of drugs or alcohol.

  • Carry out tasks only if competent & authorised

A lot of our plant and equipment needs specialist knowledge and skill to use. Only operate plant and equipment if you have the correct training and are authorised to use it.

  • Store & handle materials safely

Storing and handling loads includes moving any product with plant or equipment, transporting it with vehicles, and storing it on racks. Always use the right lifting and storage equipment. Always secure every load before moving it.

  • Only enter confined spaces when authorised

Confined spaces are places that may have bad air or where there is potential to be buried by material or earth, where people do not normally enter. They can include tanks, shafts, crawl spaces, trenches, and any other enclosed or partially enclosed areas.

  • Lift loads safely

Suspended loads are loads hanging from a crane, forklift, or any other equipment.

    - Never walk or stand under a suspended load
    - Never lift a load over another person.
